HTC Nexus Sailfish specs rumors 2016: Photo leak reveal metallic build, fingerprint sensor; device passes FCC certification

Google's HTC Nexus smartphone codenamed as Sailfish has emerged online once again. This time, it's a leaked image showing a sneak peek at the possible look of the device that is said to come out later this year.
The image is exclusively found in Android Police, and the publication has stated that they are 100 percent sure it's the HTC Nexus Sailfish and not the bigger variant which is codenamed as the Marlin. And so, if the photo does portray the smaller variant of the upcoming 2016 Nexus devices, then the said device will feature a 5-inch screen.
It's noted, though, that there isn't really much of a difference between the Marlin and Sailfish in terms of the design. The two will appear very much the same. And by just looking at the leaked photo, it's not hard to tell that it is heavily inspired by Apple's iPhones.
As detailed in a report, the purported image of the Sailfish shows the same curved corners, antenna band, and rounded edges of the iPhone models. It has its own distinct feature though that makes it different which is a fingerprint sensor just like in last year's Nexus models.
It's also said that the device will have a metallic build, as opposed to the other rumors that suggest that it will be featuring a plastic body. Not even the Marlin is going to be plastic. The publication said that both devices will be sporting the same design and final specs as they will share the same basic industrial design and materials.
Additionally, even though there is no HTC logo found anywhere, it's highly believed to be still manufactured by the Taiwanese company. The release date of the device is still unknown, but it might be coming soon as reports said that Sailfish and Marlin have already passed through FCC certification and are approved to work within the U.S.
Google has not released any official statement or announcement, though, so fans will have to stay tuned to get more updates.
