"Jessica Jones" showrunner Melissa Rosenberg revealed what she was looking for when she was initially casting an actress to play the titular role for Netflix's Marvel series, "Jessica Jones," which, as fans know, eventually went to Krysten Ritter.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in June, Rosenberg shared that she did not want Jessica Jones to be a "honey pot" character.

"She was never going to play the honey pot. She was never going to put on the tight bandage dress and heels and go and seduce the guy she needs information from," the series creator said.

Viewers of the show will know immediately what Rosenberg is talking about when they watch the show. Not once has Jessica used her sex appeal to pry information from anybody. Instead, she uses her sheer cunning abilities and uses different aliases to get the job done; and if none of that works, there's still the fact that she has strength that's ten times more powerful than any regular man.

Rosenberg also went on to say that the role required a good dramatic actress that could deliver dry lines, which Ritter was just full of.

"That's why Ritter was always very close to the top of the list," the EP explained. "I knew she could at least deliver a dry line, and then I saw her run in 'Breaking Bad' and I'm like, 'Oh, she's a dramatic actress too.' She's phenomenal."

To those who are curious, before Ritter found herself in the shoes of the alcoholic super-heroine, she was Jesse Pinkman's druggie girlfriend in "Breaking Bad" season 2. Her stint in the series didn't last long as she eventually died, but no doubt, the series has opened doors for the actress.

Prior to being the lead in "Jessica Jones," Ritter always found herself as more of a supporting cast member with movies like "Confessions of a Shopaholic" and "She's Out of My League."

The specific release date for "Jessica Jones" season 2 has yet to be announced, but the unconventional superheroine will be appearing in the Marvel Netflix series "The Defenders" due to release next year.
