'Jurassic World 2' spoilers: Jeff Goldblum not returning

Actor Jeff Goldblum has snuffed out rumors and expectations about him reprising his "Jurassic Park" role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in the upcoming reboot "Jurassic World 2."
The Oscar-nominated actor was actually invited to be in the first "Jurassic World" film, but he chose to turn it down even though his schedule can easily fit in the gig.
"Yes. I was available," Goldblum said via Metro during the "Graham Norton Show" in portraying the mathematician and chaos theory expert who likes to wear all black. However, he implied that "a big satisfying meal with being in two of them" is enough.
"If I never did any more, I'd be entirely nourished and happy and fulfilled from having done these. They're doing spectacularly well without me," he explained. With that said, fans can't expect to see him in "Jurassic World 2."
The actor was referring to the 1993 film "Jurassic Park" and its 1997 sequel "The Lost World: Jurassic Park," where he was nominated for Saturn Award and Blockbuster Entertainment Award for his performance.
Goldblum has already said back in April that he is putting the franchise behind him. He told Fandango that time he has "no plans. They're doing very well without me."
Although he won't be in "Jurassic World 2" and in future films from the franchise, Goldblum revisits another science fiction favorite, the 1996 "Independence Day."
The sequel to the film titled "Independence Day: Resurgence" will out later this month and Goldblum as the chess-loving computer expert and environmentalist, David Levinson.
With regards to "Jurassic World 2," there are rumors going around that there the dinosaurs in the sequel will be made into crime-fighters who will deal with kingpins and other crime lords.
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will reprise their roles in "Jurassic World 2." Director Colin Trevorrow is passing the torch to J.A. Bayona.
"Jurassic World 2" will be in cinemas June 22, 2018.
