Fans of both Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole have been clamoring to get their hands on a collaborative album that the rappers are said to be working on. After constant delays it looks like that collaboration will have to wait until after September, since both are really busy with their own projects and problems as of now.

The Bitbag reports that J. Cole is busy preparing for a concert for the Washington State Fair in September. The concert tickets for the concert series on Sept. 2-25 have been available to the general public starting Saturday, July 16, according to the Washington State Fair Website. J. Cole will also be performing with special guest Bas during his opening concert.

It's only understandable that J. Cole would delay a release of the much-talked about album due to the concert, since it's been reported that he has been working extra hard for his live performances. His performance at his South African concert was a huge success, and there's no doubt that he will want to pull off the same energy for his American audience.

On the other hand, it's been said that the Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole collaboration album might not come to fruition at all. According to Inquisitr, J. Cole's Instagram video posted last month could mean that he wants to do collaboration with Drake instead. The video features J. Cole singing along to a song from Drake's "View" album inside his car.

Lamar, however, is reportedly adamant about wanting to work on the collaborative album. He hinted that the album may come out as a surprise for the audiences, comparing it to Beyonce's latest album, "Lemonade."

"We gon' drop that out the sky. I ain't gonna give no dates, no nothing. I'm just gonna let it fall," said Lamar.

According to Christian Today, the delay might also be due to Lamar's current legal battles. Last April, Bill Withers sued Lamar for allegedly ripping off one of his songs. Withers' music company claimed that Lamar took a part from the song, "Don't You Want to Stay," and used it in his own song, "I Do This."

Though both Lamar and J. Cole may be busy, fans are still hoping to catch their album later this year.
