'Left 4 Dead 3' release date, news & update: game to reportedly be VR-ready with new characters and campaigns?

Many gamers continue to hold out hope that "Left 4 Dead 3" will see the light of day in the future despite Valve Corporation's silence on the matter.
The last "Left 4 Dead" game was released in 2009. Fans have been waiting to see a new version ever since, but the studio did not appear to have plans to put together one.
However, many fans believe that Valve's virtual reality-related project will soon result in "Left 4 Dead 3" being a virtual reality (VR) game although this is more of a wishful thinking.
The nature of the horror game will certainly work in a VR setting, which would explain why fans would want to see the title in such form.
Sadly, Valve is yet to say a word about "Left 4 Dead 3." It is not even known if it is in development although previous leaks have fans believing.
Last year, there were rumors that emerged pointing to the game releasing next year. Valve will reportedly have the same three male, one female format with the protagonist lineup.
This roster will reportedly include a gangster named Irvin, a comic book fanatic by the name of Keenan and a famous Kenpo fighter named Garret Jr. The female character is only known by the name Katherine.
It is also believed that "Left 4 Dead 3" will also bring back the No Mercy campaign with five new ones including Cliff-Hanger, Crashland, Inquisitor Land, Impasse and Early Destination.
None of this information has been confirmed by Valve. In fact, the developer has not even announced they are making "Left 4 Dead 3."
Interestingly, Express, the source of the rumors, even claims that the new "Left 4 Dead" game will delay the development of the "Half-Life 3," another game that fans want to see Valve come out with.
With all this still unfounded, however, fans are advised to take it with a pinch of salt.
