LG V20 release date, specs news: V10 sequel reportedly set for September
LG's follow-up to the V10 dubbed the LG V20, will reportedly be released this September as a way to take the attention away from the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
According to Korean tech site ETNews, the so-called LG V20 will be released a month earlier than it did last year to be face to face with the Galaxy Note 7, which is also releasing earlier than before.

According to the site, releasing the LG V10 successor in October, which is the same month the original was released last year, would mean that they will compete with other popular competition like the Apple in addition to Samsung.
As far the naming scheme goes, the source claims that instead of LG V11, the successor of the LG V10 will much likely be called LG V20. However, it clarified that the name isn't final yet.
It is being said that LG hopes to come back from the disappointing sales of the LG G5, which lagged behind other flagships on the market when it was released earlier this year.
In addition to that, the company also believes that getting LG V20 out there will make it faster and easier for users to forget about the LG G5.
The LG V10 was received more positively than the LG G5, and it makes sense for the company to capitalize on what users loved other than pushing for the G5.
However, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 won't be the only device the LG V20 will likely take on. September is also the month Apple will release the iPhone 7, which many are looking forward to seeing with a lot of great things heard about it.
As far as specs go, there's o information about that yet. For reference, the LG V10 came with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and 4GB RAM.
It has a 3000mAH battery, a 16-megapixel rear-facing snapper and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. All this could be easily upgraded for LG V20.
