MacBook Pro 2016 specs news: Apple to make use of Samsung's ultrathin new SSD?

Apple might end up enlisting the help of its smartphone rival Samsung for the MacBook Pro 2016 to make the laptop as thin as it could possibly be while still packing extraordinary performance.
Samsung has recently unveiled its new high-speed 512 GB SSD called PM971-NVMe, whose volume is only a hundredth of a 2.5-inch SSD and is just a fifth of the SSDs on the current MacBook Pros.
Weighing only 1g, the SSD can pack in 18 separate chips in just one ball grid array package. Media outlets can see this piece of powerful equipment being used on the MacBook Pro 2016, simply because it does what Apple envisions for its laptop—thinness and power.
Speaking about the benefits of the SSD to companies, Samsung senior vice president of Memory Product Planning and Application Engineering Team, Jung-bae Lee said in the official press release:
The introduction of this small-scale SSD will help global PC companies to make timely launches of slimmer, more stylish computing devices, while offering consumers a more satisfactory computing environment.
The MacBook Pro 2016 would certainly be better with this SSD on board. Since Apple is expected to make the laptop as slim as possible, Samsung's SSD will be the way to go.
The SSD will be available in three variants—512 GB, 256 GB and 128 GB—and will be ready to ship this month worldwide as Samsung is already done with mass production.
The MacBook Pro 2016 is rumored to be unveiled this month as well specifically at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). It is highly likely that the notebook will debut the power of Samsung's powerful new SSD.
The South Korean tech giant has been a consistent supplier for Apple. The SSDs on the current MacBook Pro line were manufactured by Samsung.
Since the partnership is already there, it is all the more possible that Apple's MacBook Pro 2016 will take advantage of Samsung's latest innovation.
