MacBook Pro, Air 2016 release date, specs rumors: Air 2016 launching first, rumored 5K display?
The Thunderbolt Display was first released in 2011 and was eventually used on MacBooks. According to Macrumors, Apple might be working on a new display, which could be at 5K resolution.
This display should boast an insane 5120 x 2880 pixels. This Thunderbolt Display is expected to be released later this fall along with the highly-anticipated MacBook Pro and Air 2016.

Just like the discontinued Thunderbolt Display, it is expected that this rumored display, which should be announced by Apple soon, will be compatible with the MacBook Pro and Air 2016, which means they will be powerful enough to support the technology.
This is possible since the MacBook Pro 2016 and the MacBook Air 2016 are rumored to come with the AMD RX Radeon 400 graphics cards to be released at the end of the month.
On the other hand, the upcoming MacBook laptops will reportedly ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack, which Apple is also doing in its flagship smartphone, the iPhone 7.
The tech giant from Cupertino plans to trade the traditional headphone jack with a Lightning port, allowing the MacBook Pro and Air 2016 to be slimmer.
The former is also believed to come with a fingerprint scanner and an OLED touch display bar located right above the keyboard.
With regards to the release date, the upcoming MacBook models will reportedly be released this fall. However, the MacBook Air 2016 is expected to be launched earlier than the MacBook Pro 2016.
Since the metal injection mold-made hinges for the former are already in shipment, the MacBook Air 2016 should get here sooner. It will be shortly followed by the MacBook Pro 2016, which is expected to come in a 13-inch version and a 15-inch version.
