Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date, specs news update: Laptop delayed to early 2017, Microsoft cooking up something else?
The Microsoft Surface Book 2 will be delayed to early next year, according to a report by DigiTimes. The software giant based in Redmond is reportedly working on another device.
A leaked image by Indian app developer Shubhan Chemburkar suggests that there will only be one Surface device set for release later this year.

It is believed that it will neither be the Microsoft Surface Book 2 or the Microsoft Surface Pro 5. DigiTimes claims that Microsoft will release will be the Surface All-in-One (AIO).
According to the site, the tech company delayed the Microsoft Surface Book 2 to early 2017 because of the delay in the shipping of Intel's Kaby Lake processor.
For those who are not familiar with Kaby Lake, it is the successor of the Sky Lake, which is currently being used by the Surface Book and the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.
The Kaby Lake is billed to improve the performance of devices that use it such as the Microsoft Surface Book 2 in the 3D graphics department and will allow 4K video playback.
It is also believed to be low in power consumption, allowing long battery life. Since it won't be available later this year, the Microsoft Surface Book 2 will have to be delayed.
With that said, Microsoft will fill in its fall schedule with the Surface All-in-One personal computer (PC) as an alternative to the Microsoft Surface Book 2.
DigiTimes says that the AIO PC is "believed to have a strong impact on the global AIO PC market" and will compete with today's top two AIO players – Apple and Lenovo.
There's no word on the specs or the features, but it appears that the Microsoft Surface All-in-One PC will make use of the Sky Lake, keeping it in line with the company's current generation of products.
Next year, Microsoft starts fresh with Microsoft Surface Book 2 and also Microsoft Surface Pro 5.
