'Narcos' season 2 news 2016: Roberto Escobar requests to review upcoming season before its release
Roberto Escobar, brother of the late Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, has made a formal request to Netflix to allow him to watch the second season of "Narcos" before the series' distribution in September.

Roberto claimed that the first season was full of inaccuracies, and that if the real Pablo Escobar were alive, he would not appreciate how he was being portrayed in the series. Roberto, who said he was Pablo's accountant for many years, pledged his undying loyalty to his brother. He declared that he wants the streaming giant to postpone the release of "Narcos" season 2 until he gives them their permission. He also wants a share in the profits.
Deadline reports that Escobar has submitted a "formal, friendly request" to review the material on "solely on an informational basis."
"It is depicting me, my life, my family and my brother. I think nobody else in the world is alive to determine the validity of the materials, but me," he said in a statement from Escobar Inc.
Roberto registered his brother Pablo and the Escobar family name as successor-in-interest rights back in 2015, the very same year that "Narcos" debuted on Netflix. Escobar Inc CEO Olof K. Gustafsson said that the company had previously tried to contact Netflix before the first season premiere, but they were met with no response. Netflix has yet to respond to any questions about Roberto's request.
"Narcos" is an original Netflix series about drug kingpin Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura), and how real-life DEA agents Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) and Javier Peña (Pedro Pascal) tried to bring him down. The series is set in the late 1980s, and gives the audiences a look at the world of the infamous drug lords of that decade, and the efforts of law enforcement to fight them head on.
The entire season 2 of "Narcos" will be available for streaming on Netflix on Sept. 2.
