'Narcos' season 2 spoilers, plot news: Hunt for Pablo Escobar begins in new trailer

Wagner Moura as Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar in \"Narcos\" | Netflix

Despite the threats of being delayed and canceled, "Narcos" season 2 was previewed in an exciting brand new trailer released by Netflix.

In the clip that ran for a couple of minutes, fans were brought up to speed of what Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) is up to, which is breaking out of prison.

"Okay, let me break it down for you. Four-thousand soldiers, tens of thousands of rounds of fire, and a bunch of f— helicopters," the voiceover said in the "Narcos" season 2 trailer.

"There was no way Pablo Escobar was getting out of this one, right?" the voiceover then asked as the opposite of what he was saying takes place in the clip.

In the "Narcos" season 2 trailer, Escobar's escape from incarceration was branded as the "biggest law enforcement blunder of all time," which made the authorities even hungrier in taking down Escobar.

With the drug kingpin's getaway, the authorities amped up their game and alliances were made. Just like that, the manhunt became an invasion, as the voiceover in the trailer declared.

The "Narcos" season 2 preview was chock full of explosions and gunfire as war began between Escobar and the police force. Of course, this is not new to viewers who follow the series, as the first season was heavy with these elements as well.

The hunt for Escobar won't be easy, as warned in the clip, since he has the tendency to slip into his most dangerous and murderous form when he comes close to being caught.

This will be the central theme for "Narcos" season 2, with the drug lord doing all he could to flee incarceration and the law enforcement doing their best for their target not to be successful in doing so.

"Narcos" season 2 is set to premiere on Friday, Sept. 2. However, Escobar's real-life brother Roberto urges Netflix that they allow him to check the content of the new season first before airing it.

He also asked to be compensated for the license rights to the story. So far, it is unknown if the streaming company will give in to his demands.

Escobar's brother has threatened to have the show cancelled or delayed if Netflix did not honor his requests.

We lost a good one today. Miguel, I was proud to call you my friend, I will miss you.
