'NCIS: Los Angeles' executive producer assures fans that the next season will be 'spectacular'

With the departure of Shane Brennan as showrunner of the CBS crime drama "NCIS: Los Angeles," fans have been in a state of unrest, and John Peter Kousakis, an executive producer for the show, took to Twitter to appease the show's followers. Apart from confirming the premiere date, he also told fans that they are in for something "spectacular" and "sensational" this coming season. He also assured them that the writers are doing their best to come up with good stories.
Ever since Brennan stepped down from his role as the showrunner and handed the reigns off to R. Scott Gemmill, fans have been left unsure of the show's future. However, Gemmill himself has had a long-standing career in television, and has been working on the show since its season premiere back in 2009; so fans can expect more or less the same quality of the show they all know and love.
To those wondering about Brennan, after being the showrunner for "NCIS: Los Angeles" for the past seven seasons, he has moved on to different projects for CBS, including a TV adaptation of the Sylvester Stallone-fueled action franchise of "The Expendables," and according to Deadline, he is working on a sci-fi series called "Luna: New Moon." It's a story that centers on a group of colonists who live on the moon. Brennan, however, will still be staying on "NCIS: Los Angeles" as executive producer, so fans can be assured that he has not left his position in bad terms.
Hall of Fame Magazine reports that Gemmill has firm plans on the Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) romance. According to the report, Gemmill and the production crew already know how they are going to proceed with the story of the two lovers.
Since its premiere in 2009, "NCIS: Los Angeles" has been followed by a steady fan base. Even though no longer as popular as it once was, the show has been getting better ratings by critics in its latest run, and fans could not wait to see more.
"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 will premiere on Oct. 2 on CBS.
