EA Sports is currently working on "NHL 17," another addition to its hockey game series, and during a recent press event, a few lucky gamers were given the chance to try out the beta for "NHL 17." So far, comments have been saying that it still has a long way to go before it's finished, so EA has a lot to work on as of now.

Game Revolution reports about the unique way that the game gets players to build their own teams. As of now, players are able to choose from three modes that are available to try out, EA Sports Hockey League, Hockey Ultimate Team, and online versus.

Hockey Ultimate Team, however, was singled out, as has a new way to incorporate "synergy" within teams. The core basics of the game mode were kept pretty much the same. The mode focuses on building the "ultimate team" and players have to fight through the competition and prove that their team is the very best.

Though the mode has become a classic staple of the NHL series, EA has come up with a new system that allows the team to match the player's personal preference and the way that they choose to play the game.

The game has stats for all the different athletes that available to play, and their skills are also categorized based on their specialties. Some may be good defensemen, others great snipers. Teams with good synergy among members get special boosts that make gameplay more interesting than ever before.

Hockey League also tries to improve team gameplay online. Players take their characters into a lobby full of other players to form a team, and they can compete with other teams formed from all over the world. Gamers familiar with the "NBA Live" series will be more familiar with this mode.

"NHL 17" for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One is expected to be released this Sept. 13.
