Nintendo NX release date news 2016: EA reveals one thing they want to make sure before it collaborates with Nintendo for the NX

Although Electronic Arts (EA) executive vice president Patrick Soderlund is in talks with Nintendo about the new console NX for a potential collaboration, the company behind the likes of "Star Wars Battlefront" and "Battlefield" does not want to jump the gun.
"I personally and the company are huge fans of Nintendo, they're the reason why I started making games," Soderlund told BBC. "We're in constant communication with them and when they come to market something - and if it makes sense for us - we'll be there," he added.
EA has collaborated with Nintendo in the past. The company vowed its support to the Wii U when it was first released, although they did not develop as many games as one would have expected on the console.
Soderlund hints in his statement that it might go down that road again with Nintendo NX. However, everything at this point is still up in the air especially because there's not much information about the new console.
The latest rumors about it indicate that it will bring the classic game cartridges, the one on the Nintendo 64 from 20 years ago. Nintendo is reportedly giving these gaming dinosaurs a modern take that will help the Nintendo NX stand out.
As far as specs and features are concerned, Nintendo has been consistently mum about these aspects of the machine yet. The company has always shied from talking about the console extensively.
The only official information about Nintendo NX that the studio gave is the first time it announced the project last year and its statement last month about its delay from its original holiday 2016 launch to March 2017.
Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima took to the company's investor meeting to explain the cause of delay.
"We believe that when launching hardware, the amount of quality software for consumers to play that is available at launch is important, and that we ought to determine our launch dates based on this," he said via Polygon.
"In that sense, our approach is that we should wait until we can provide a fully realized experience rather than rushing to launch in the holiday season," he added.
