Xbox One gamers who play the multiplayer first-person shooter video game "Overwatch" can now access the Competitive Play mode. It came along with the first released patch which brought in all the changes that were already live on PC.

However, according to GameSpot, the update has not arrived in the PlayStation 4 yet. There is no specific date yet on when it will be coming so fans will have to stay tuned. But for those who are ready to play the new mode, they can find out more details from the official blog of the game.

As per the official site, the mode is made for those who want to try out their skills. It's also made to provide a more serious experience which is far different from Blizzard's Quick Play or Weekly Brawl modes. But players must take note that the ones who can only play the mode are those who have already hit level 25. This is to ensure that gamers in the Competitive Play are already equipped with the adequate understanding of the game's mechanics, heroes, and maps.

Before going any further into the mode, every player must first complete 10 placement matches in order to acquire their initial skill rating. Ratings will then either increase or decrease depending on the player's match performance and some other factors.

There will also be a total of four seasons. Each one will last up to two and a half months. Players will have to make use of this time in increasing their skill rating. They will need to battle their way up the ranks as it will all be back to zero once the season ends.

Apart from the Competitive Play mode, it is noted that that the "Overwatch" Xbox One update also brought other gameplay changes like the dead-zone controls which have been improved. There's also the removal of the "Avoid This Player" option and the availability of McCree as an AI hero in Practice, Play vs. AI and custom game modes.
