Cheaters have found their way into "Pokemon Go" by hacking the GPS systems in their phones to add to their distance traveled or to let them catch Pokemon that isn't available in their area. This is bad news for people who are playing the game as it's meant to be played, but Nintendo actually puts a (rather soft) ban on these people who refuse to play fair.

According to Polygon, players who have been using GPS spoofing hacks and consequently dealt bans discovered that they were not able to catch Pokémon, collect items from Pokestops, or battle for control of a gym. Also, when they threw a Pokeball at a Pokemon, the Pokemon didn't get caught and instead just ran away. The ban only lasts for a few hours, though, so players can just go back to cheating when the ban is lifted.

It's also reported that a majority of these cheaters are people from rural areas who have little access to places that are more densely populated with Pokemon. Some people have been spoofing their locations to be in New York City which has a ton of different Pokemon available for the taking. One could see their reason for cheating, but Niantic Labs holds no soft spots and would see to it that the game is played their way.

"Pokemon Go" is proving to be a huge success in the countries where it's been released. Not only does it offer players the real-life experience of catching Pokemon in the real world, it also gets those couch-ridden gamers up and about, exploring the great outdoors.

Exercise is part of the game, and if players would resort to cheating in order to avoid getting any exercise, they might as well just play the original Pokemon games. That way, they can catch any Pokemon regardless of their area, and they don't have to bother players who have been willingly walking outside for miles just to progress in the game.
