'Pokémon Sun and Moon' news and update: Pikachu's name changed; trailer reveals Solgaleo and Lunala

"Pokémon" fans have something exciting to look forward to in the coming months as The Pokémon Company and Game Freak will be releasing two new games titled "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" for Nintendo in celebration of the media franchise's 20th anniversary.
According to a report by Tech Advisor, the games have been confirmed to hit store shelves this November. And though it's still a few months away from now, tidbits of details have surfaced already. For instance, it has been said that Pikachu's name has been changed.
Quartz explained that the games will have a different name for the most popular pocket monster. It will now be read as Pikaqui due to Mandarin translation. This has made fans from Hong Kong upset though as their basic language used is Cantonese and translating the name now alters the whole thing. Pikachu will now be "Pei-kaa-jau" in Cantonese, instead of "Bei-kaa-chyu" from the original translation. Nintendo has also changed the names of the 151 original Pokemon into Mandarin.
Nintendo aimed to unify the different translations. Yet, it only garnered public protests from Hong Kong fans who clamored to bring back the Cantonese version of Pikachu as they know. If they do succeed, then it also means that they have won for the language as a whole.
Meanwhile, fans are treated to a sneak peek as the games' starring characters have been revealed in a new trailer. Polygon detailed that the video showed a better look at psychic/steel-type Solgaleo, the cover of "Pokémon Sun," and psychic/ghost-type Lunula, the cover of "Pokémon Moon."
Aside from that, a closer look at the game's central region has been teased as well. Gamers who are ready to play the game can expect to run around an island called Alola Region, which is apparently inspired by Hawaii. Gameplay characters include Professor Kukui, Lillie and Hau.
The games are now available for pre-order with a price tag of $57.
