"Pokémon" is currently riding an all-time high with the release of Niantic's "Pokémon Go," but fans of the anime have been recently expressing their frustrations online because Ash Ketchum, the hero of the "Pokémon" anime, has lost the Pokemon League for the sixth time.

According to Kotaku, fans have been disappointed with seeing Ash lose to Alain of the Kalos League Championship. In the match, Ash used his Greninja to fight Alain's Mega Charizard, and after the explosive match, Ash loses.

Numerous people have been frustrated with the series which has turned into Ash Ketchum's failure-filled odyssey. Since 1997, Ash has been losing the League for a straight 19 years (not to mention he has lost his ability to age beyond 12).

Some people, however, are taking Ash's failures on a positive note. With a new generation of kids getting into "Pokémon," the series may be teaching a lesson about how it's okay to lose. Comparing how Ash has lost in the past, this time, he just smiles and brushes off the loss like it's nothing.

Some fans are also expecting the loss to be a reason to keep the series on for longer. If Ash won the championship, he wouldn't have anything else to do but go home. The time Ash wins the Pokémon League will probably be the time the animators will choose to end the series — an action they can't afford now with the refreshed interest in "Pokémon."

In the long run, maybe Ash will realize that his dream to win the Pokémon League is unrealistic, and he will settle for a more stable profession, which would also be a valuable lesson to teach viewers. Or maybe the show is just teaching kids the value of never giving up and being able to accept a loss with grace.
