'Pokémon Go' Gen 2 news, Pokestop updates news: What improvements are coming?

"Pokémon Go" enthusiasts will be happy to know that Niantic and Nintendo have plans to expand the game further. Pretty soon, players will have access to Gen 2 Pokémon, breeding, and new Pokéstop upgrades.

According to Christian Daily, more Pokémon will be added to the Johto Region, and some "legacy" Pokémon will also be getting their own evolutions. Pokémon like Scyther, Polygon, and Onix are respectively going to get their new generation evolutions (Scizor, Porygon 2, and Steelix respectively).

Eevee will also be getting two more evolutions added to its list. As of writing, Eevee could evolve into three types of Pokémon: Vaporeon (Water), Jolteon (Electric), and Flareon (Fire). Soon, evolutions like Umbreon and Espeon will be made available to Eevee. To get the Psychic-type Espeon, players should evolve their Eevee during the day; to get the Dark-type Umbreon, just evolve the Eevee at night.

Other Pokémon will get their respective evolutions include Zubat (Crobat), Oddish (Bellosom), Horsea (Kingdra), Poliwag (Politoed), Slowpoke (Slowking), and Chansey (Blissey). For instructions on how to evolve your second generation Pokémon, iDigitalTimes made a guide for it.

Though some players may be happy with the update, other Pokémon fans are still waiting for "Pokémon Go" to be released in other countries. Some fans are speaking out in Reddit, saying things like, "I think the biggest issue they need to work out before releasing gen 2 is getting the game released in all countries." Others think that the updates are more of just another way for the developers to grab some cash. Then again, maybe having a more stable game when it comes out in other countries would make players a lot happier.

Some fans are also clamoring for a return of the fighting gameplay that the original Pokémon games had. Instead of catching Pokémon with higher levels, they would rather keep training a Pokémon to get stronger on its own.

"Pokémon Go" is available for Android and iOS devices in select countries.
