'Pokémon GO' release date news: Expected in July; pre-orders opened for 'Pokemon GO Plus'

Augmented-reality game "Pokemon GO" is almost coming to town. Nintendo announced during the E3 video game conference that they will be releasing the game in July. There is no specific date of release yet but it's expected to be announced soon considering the field tests in some territories have already closed.
The game is free to download from the Google Play Store for Android and App for iPhone. However, reports revealed that there will be some in-app purchases. Those who are interested to enhance their gaming experience will have to shell out money for certain contents. They will need to buy PokeCoins, which is the in-game currency of "Pokémon GO."
Through the PokéCoins, they will be able to exchange it for power-ups, extra items and other enhancements. As of the moment, it's not known yet if the paid-for in-app content will require progress within the game.
Reports also noted that the "Pokémon GO" Plus is now already open for pre-orders. For those who are not in the loop yet, the Plus is a tiny electronic device that Nintendo designed as companion for the game. It functions by alerting gamers that a Pokemon or an activity is on hand. This also helps users not to keep on looking at their screen for hours.
Moreover, it is equipped with low-energy Bluetooth radio that provides communication with the game. It also works with just a push of a button to choose an action for the notification. It is just an optional gadget, though. Pre-order is available on Amazon and it will cost $34.99.
Smartphone requirements include a Bluetooth 4.0, GPS technology and Android 4.3. But fans must be aware that not all will work with Android devices. For iPhone users, their device must be running with iOS 8. To find out more details, fans will have to stay tuned to get updates.
