'Shadow Warrior 2' release date news: PC, PS4, and Xbox One launches slated for September

There is good news for all the fans of the "Shadow Warrior" series. The game is all set to release its second installment, and it's coming earlier than expected.
"Shadow Warrior 2" will be making its way to online game platforms sometime next month. There is no specific date yet but by September, the first-person shooter video game developed by Poland-based indie development studio Flying Wild Hog will be available for the PC.
It was initially thought that the game will come in October, but publisher Devolver Digital announced a change in plans. A release to the consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is also expected soon after. It's not known how the long the gap will be, though, but it is speculated to come at around the end of September.
"It's coming out next month, we haven't set the date yet, but we are ... it's gonna come out next month," Devolver Digital's Nigel Lowrie said in an interview with GameReactor during QuakeCon 2016.
"Shadow Warrior" was first announced for PC back in May 1997. It officially launched its full version in August of the same year and was developed using Ken Silverman's Build engine. Devolver Digital picked up the game in May 2013 and made it available to play for free for a limited time on Steam. They later announced that they will be making the reboot fully free to play.
In the upcoming sequel, protagonist Lo Wang will return for more adventure and another round of fighting evil. A report detailed that he will be fighting evil forces with a deadly combination of swords, guns, and demonic powers.
He won't be going solo anymore though as he will be fighting alongside friends. The game will be introducing a four-player co-op mode and will be adding more weapons to choose from.
"Shadow Warrior 2" will also pick up five years after the events of the first game. The plot of the game involves Wong being caught in a conflict after a simple mission went wrong.
