More information about the highly-anticipated "Star Wars Battlefront 2" is being revealed as the current installment is expanded with new downloadable content (DLC).

The game is expected to be released late next year with new worlds from the new "Star Wars" films from Disney set to be featured in the sequel.

This means that as the "Star Wars" universe in the big screen expands, so will "Star Wars Battlefront 2." This is not much of a shock as the current game is receiving a DLC featuring the upcoming spinoff film "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."

After the highly-anticipated Death Star DLC this September, "Star Wars Battlefront" will get a chance to experience the world of Jyn Erso via the game.

With regards to "Star Wars Battlefront 2," the sequel will be released next year and developer DICE will collaborate with studio Motive to stitch the game together.

Electronic Arts also inked a 10-year deal with Disney, which means that upcoming films from the production studio will be featured not just in "Star Wars Battlefront 2," but future games in the said series.

Meanwhile, Visceral Games writer Amy Hennig, whose next project will be a completely different "Star Wars" game, teased the installment at a panel in the recently concluded Star Wars Celebration.

She did not get into detail regarding the game, but she likened the process of writing the story with stitching the plot for the "Uncharted" series, where she wrote the first three games.

"The reason [we're collaborating with Lucasfilm so closely is] we're writing an original Star Wars story with new characters, locations, tech, creatures, you name it. All of it has to sit authentically alongside the stuff people know now," Hennig said via GameSpot.

"The process that I've been using is really similar to what I did with Uncharted, to be honest. If you're trying to re-create that classic pulp action adventure experience, you need to deconstruct the films so you know how to reconstruct them in an interactive context as gameplay," she added.
