'Star Wars Battlefront' game 'Galaxy in Turmoil' shut down

Lucasfilm has reportedly taken action and has shut down a fan-made attempt to develop the third installment to the original "Star Wars: Battlefront" franchise after it was scrapped for the official "Star Wars: Battlefront" game developed by DICE.
According to Game Tyrant, Lucasfilm has given the developers a copyright notice requesting that they remove any "Star Wars" related assets in the game. The original "Battlefront 3" was said to be 99% finished before the plug was pulled on the project, and fans have been eagerly waiting for its release, especially after the disappointing reception of DICE's "Star Wars: Battlefront."
The good news, however, is that the game wasn't fully shut down, and it will still be released under a new name, "Galaxy in Turmoil." Though all the "Star Wars"-related elements were removed from the game, the essence of a "Battlefront" game sequel will still be present.
Game developer Tony Romanelli said, "Regardless of what some have said, all of our code, sounds and many other non-Star Wars assets have been created in-house, which means they are indeed owned by us...Our game will still have massive 64-player battles, ground-to-space combat, destructible capital ships, and a full single-player campaign. We will also still be releasing Galaxy in Turmoil on Steam as planned and it will remain a free game."
What's also interesting is that Lucasfilm even asked EA Games if they would like to license the game and include it as a part of their catalog. EA, however, declined.
Even if the game doesn't have any of the "Star Wars" elements that it was made to have, fans will at least appreciate that there are some people out there who want nothing more than to share their love for "Star Wars," and not charge anything for it.
As of writing, no details about the fan-made game's launch has been released, but it looks like they'll have to replace a whole lot of material if the game is going to lack the "Star Wars" properties.
