Players who loved every "Super Mario" game are in for a treat as Nintendo is set to release a mobile game dubbed "Super Mario Run."

According to reports, Nintendo is planning to release the game for both iOS and Android users. However, iPhones and iPads will be getting it first this coming December. There is no word yet on the release for Android but it is expected to either come out the same time with as iOS or perhaps it will arrive sometime in 2017.

The game is said to be free for download but fans shouldn't celebrate too soon as creator Shigeru Miyamoto explained that this is not going to be the full version. Interested gamers will have to shell out some cash to get the full gaming experience.

"The basic goal is to give people a sample of what the gameplay will be so that they can get a sense of what they'll experience when they get the full game," Miyamoto said to IGN.

Nonetheless, Miyamoto promises that the game will be worth the purchase as it's going to be a lot of fun. Gamers will only need to do a one-time purchase, which means there would be no additional payments later on.

Nintendo officially announced the game during the iPhone 7 launch on Sept. 7 and as detailed in the report, "Super Marion Run" is going to be a side-scrolling isometric game that will involve some challenging obstacle courses, climbing and the collection of coins. It will basically be like a never-ending game of running to reach the flagpole that works just by tapping the screen.

There are going to be three modes overall. One is the Toad Rally, which is a competitive mode that will let players match up against friends and other gamers on the web. They can choose their opponent from a list of people with relatively the same skill level as theirs.

There will also be a mode that will let players make their own Mushroom Kingdom. The last one includes an array of challenging courses that gamers will have to successfully go through.
