Fans still need to wait for the console and PC launch of the famous fighting video game, "Tekken 7." Although its release is slated for 2017, rumors about paid downloadable content (DLC) for the game already spread ahead of time.

The plan for the creation of a paid expansion was revealed by game producer Katsuhiro Harada.

In an interview with Game Reactor, Harada said, "Personally, I've always thought that fighting games were best made as a package, you release it, the players enjoy it for however long they want." He also mentioned that if he wanted to change or add something in the game, he could make it available by launching another distinct package.

The producer then went on to say, "I always thought that was the best model for fighting games, but recently with the digital purchases and such a lot of people, the players especially, are saying that they don't mind paying, that they still want to see some new content after release." This implied his approval for the release of a paid "Tekken 7" DLC in the future.

However, Harada's statement did not confirm if paid DLC will be offered by "Tekken" in the future. It would be best for fans of the franchise to stay tuned for more developments.

Meanwhile, producer Bandai Namco released a new gameplay video for "Tekken 7" at the gaming festival PAX West last weekend. The in-game demo featured one of the available story modes.

The demo showed how players could access and start the story mode of a character who was recently added to the "Tekken" roster, Akuma. Akuma is a crossover character from "Street Fighter." The demo revealed the first few parts of his story in relation to "Tekken" and its characters.

The arcade version of "Tekken 7" was already released in Japan last year. However, the console version of the game will only be released worldwide for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One platforms in early 2017.
