'The Crown' season 2 air date, spoilers & update: character roster expands with new prime ministers

Though still new on Netflix, the series "The Crown" already won the hearts of many fans as it presented an interesting narrative surrounding the Royal family.
The series introduced Queen Elizabeth, played by Claire Foy while her father was still king. However, things took a turn for the worst when he died, leaving Elizabeth as Queen before she was ready for the task.
The first season followed her struggle as she learned the ways of being Queen, all awhile balancing her family matters as she was married to Philip Mountbatten. The season was able to finish a whole decade, leaving fans to wonder about what the upcoming season will bring. It was reported that the series is expected to air for at least six seasons, which had viewers speculating on what is next for the Royal family.
With the years that series is expected to cover next, rumors indicate that the upcoming season will show many new prime ministers, since the finale of season 1 saw the retirement of Winston Churchill.
Because of this, the upcoming season could present new characters such as Anthony Eden, Harold Macmillan, as well as Sir Alex Douglas-Home. With that, there will surely be a change in dynamics when it comes to Britain.
With such big names expected to arrive, many are curious as to how the cast of the show will fare. Foy was able to shed some light on what it is like to play the role of Queen Elizabeth in an interview with Pop Sugar.
She said, "You're playing scenes with the most powerful people in the country, so if you were to sit down and think, 'Right, I'm going to think about the enormity of the role I'm taking on,' you'd probably not be able to get up in the morning. I think you just have to take every day as it comes and then you eventually find yourself on set the first day, and it's all come together. The costume, the wig, the voice, the movement, the relationships . . . and then we just got on with it, I suppose. We did as much as we possibly could to get there."
