There is still a couple of episodes to go before "The Flash" season 2 finale but fans can't help but hope they speed through time to figure out how it all ends for Barry (Grant Gustin) and company.

(Spoiler Alert! Details about "The Flash" season episode 21 below. For those who haven't seen the episode, proceed with caution.)

Zoom (Teddy Sears) is still at large and Barry seems to have vanished. At the end of the day, it might actually be up to Cisco (Carlos Valdes) to stop the evil speedster from terrorizing two Earths.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Valdes revealed that his character's abilities will "start to prove a vital function in stopping Zoom." The actor said that Cisco will eventually be confident of his powers and that they will come through "in a clutch."

In a separate interview with IGN, Valdes revealed, "I think fans can definitely expect a lot more of those powers to flourish, and to mature and to develop. They actually end up serving a fundamental purpose in the finale."

It's been a tough week for Team Flash as they continue to suffer the repercussions of losing Barry's super speed to Zoom, practically giving the super-powered psychopath the power to conquer their world.

Valdes sums up "The Flash" season 2 finale with one word: "showdown." The team hatches a plan to stop Zoom for good, and every member of the group has a designated function that, in the event they mess it up, will mark the end for all of them.

"Everybody has to be focused and the plan has to go through without a hitch. There are no backup plans anymore. This is it. The energy funnels itself into this big showdown event that takes place in the finale," the actor said.

Tom Cavanagh, who plays Harry from Earth-2 in "The Flash" season 2 finale teased in an interview with Mirror that during this ultimate battle against Zoom, Team Flash might lose one a member. Being playful and coy, the actor said "Should we have somebody die perhaps? I don't know, maybe."

Before the second season of the show comes to a close, viewers will first get to watch "The Runaway Dinosaur," the episode directed by comic book expert and writer Kevin Smith.

The untitled "The Flash" season 2 finale airs Tuesday, May 24 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
