'Tokyo Ghoul' season 3 release date news update: Production issues hinder 2016 premiere?
Issues in the production of "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 are allegedly getting in the way of a 2016 premiere of the upcoming season. These issues are believed to push the premiere of the new season to next year instead of 2016.

The problems in question involve the effort of fans to stop the production down at Studio Pierrot and have it handled by another studio that will give justice to the source material created by Sui Ishida.
Many fans thought the second season of "Tokyo Ghoul" was not up to par with the first one because the story was nothing like the manga and that majority of the characters were left out.
Fans fear that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will have the same fate so an online petition was made by a fan who wants "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 to go looking for another animation studio. Unfortunately, the petition failed.
This should allow Studio Pierrot to continue the production of "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3. It remains to be seen what the show will look like this time, but fans hope it will go back to its roots.
Rumor has it that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will have a new protagonist. For two seasons, the spotlight was on manga lead character Ken Kaneki, but the next season is said to be told from the perspective of ghoul and Anteiku waitress Touka Kirishima.
When "Tokyo Ghoul" premiered, it was praised by fans of the manga version because it did a good job in bringing the story to life on TV with all the important elements intact. Fans can hope that since Studio Pierrot has already done it once, it can do it again.
However, it remains a mystery if the studio is looking to follow the style they did in the second season for "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 or if it will heed fans' calling and stay true to how Ishida envisioned the saga.
"Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 is expected to premiere later this year or early 2017.
