Xbox One Backwards Compatibility games news update 2016: 'SSX' added to catalog, 'Halo 3: ODST' expected to follow

\"SSX\" is now part of the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility library. | Xbox Store

The library of titles with Xbox One Backwards Compatibility grows with the Electronic Arts snowboarding video game "SSX," which was originally released in 2012 to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4.

Players who have a copy of the game will simply need to insert the disc and download it again for those who have the digital version. After that, "SSX" will be all set for some Xbox One Backwards Compatibility action.

The release of "SSX" as an Xbox One Backwards Compatibility title was already revealed in a listing by Amazon last month. It only took a matter of time before it was made official.

Interestingly, Amazon also listed "Halo 3: ODST" as another Xbox 360 title to be playable on the Xbox One soon. However, Microsoft is yet to make an announcement about this.

But since "SSX" has already been announced for Xbox One Backwards Compatibility, the "Halo" title might follow soon.

Before "SSX" made its way to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility catalog, a bunch more last-generation titles were also made playable to the Xbox One in the past week. The list is as follows:

  • "Domino Master"
  • "DuckTales: Remastered"
  • "Hexic 2"
  • "Magic 2012"
  • "Unbound Saga"
  • "XCOM: Enemy Unknown"

Since it was launched last November 2015, Xbox One Backwards Compatibility has grown significantly quick and large seeing that a full-on library of games is already up and running.

The innovation definitely blurred the lines and eliminated the limits between the Xbox One and Xbox 360. Fans hope that more titles cross the line as well.

The game fans want to see as part of the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility library is Rockstar's 2010 western shooter "Red Dead Redemption," whose rumored sequel is expected to be unveiled soon.
