Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air release date, specs news: Device unveiled; comes in 12.5-inch and 13.3-inch variants

Chinese electronics company Xiaomi has finally unveiled its long-rumored laptop, the Mi Notebook Air. This is actually the company's first laptop model ever and it cannot be denied that it's being linked to be inspired by Apple's MacBook Air. Not all agree with it though, with some saying that the Apple product is more solid.
Nonetheless, the spotlight right now is on the Mi Notebook Air after it debuted in Beijing together with Xiaomi's latest flagship device, the Redmi Pro. As detailed in a report, the new laptop comes in two size variants. One sports a 12.5 inch-size while the other one is 13.3 inches. The two are somewhat the same but their differences are also notable.
Both versions of the Mi Notebook Air sport Full HD displays with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution. Their pixel density count is different though. The 12.5-inch variant has 176 ppi while the 13.3-inch model has 165 ppi.
Both also run on Windows 10 and feature one USB Type-C port for characing, HDMI port, headphone jack and 2 USB 3.0 Type-A ports. Their aluminum body is in gold and silver. A backlit keyboard is also present.
As for the differences, the 12.5-inch version is said to be equipped with an Intel Core M3 with integrated graphics. It is paired with 4 GB of RAM and comes with a 128 GB SSD. Weighing 1.07 kg, the device is claimed to last up to 11.5 hours of battery life.
On the other hand, the 13.3-inch variant is said to be packed with a 2.3GHz Intel Core i5-6200U (Turbo up to 2.7GHz) and running with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM. It also comes with a Nvidia Geforece 940MX, which is useful for gaming.
Moreover, it comprises of a 256 GB PCIe SSD with a factory expandable SATA SSD slot. The company claims that the bigger variant has a 9.5 hour battery life.
The prices revealed are 3,599 CNY ($540) for the 12.5-inch model and 4,999 CNY ($750) for the 13.3-inch model. The laptops will be available in China beginning Tuesday, Aug. 2.
