Xiaomi Redmi Pro release date, specs: Android Marshmallow, MediaTek processor, 3 GB of RAM

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is releasing a new device dubbed as the Xiaomi Redmi Pro. It was previously thought to be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 but that's all gone now as reports confirm the new moniker of the device.
The device is also said to be arriving very soon. As reported by Chinese outlet Weibo (via GSMArena), Xiaomi is scheduled to hold a product launch on July 27 and one of the stars of that event is the Redmi Pro. It's also indicated in the post that it will be coming along with a "mysterious small partner," although it's not known what it will be.
The specs and features of the purported device are still kept under wraps, but leaks suggest that it will be equipped with a deca-core MediaTek MT6797M processor under the hood paired with 3 GB of RAM. However, potential consumers can opt for a more premium variant with higher RAM count as rumors have it that there will be a 4 GB of RAM version packed with a Helio X25 MT6797T processor clocked at 2.5 GHz.
The handset is said to be pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow topped with MIUI. The speculated display size is 5.5 inches. The device was also previously spotted on Geekbench benchmark and it revealed that it was able to score 1281 in single-core test while 4183 in multi-core test.
Other leaked details suggest that the Redmi Pro was featured in an ad with Redmi's celebrity face Liu Haoran. Speculations also say that the upcoming smartphone will not be coming with a fingerprint scanner on the back. It's deemed to be unusual, though, considering the current generation Redmi Note 3 sports a fingerprint sensor at the rear.
Rumors also claim that the device will have a metal unibody with antenna bands positioned on top and at the bottom of the smartphone. As of now, none of the information released is official so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.
